LET'S GO ALL THE WAY WITH SOCIALISM - HOW ABOUT IN EDUCATION? ***** Why, certainly; if we can emulate the health care systems of Socialist countries, why aren't their higher education models also worth copying? Typically, in such a nation, when a student completes eighth grade or so, his educational future is determined by an examination. Unlike here, not everyone is allowed to attend a university. No, indeed; if his exam results aren't up to that level, he'll be told to attend a work school, for example. That would be a place where he'd learn to be a plumber, a landscape worker, a mechanic, or so forth. He might also be assigned to a teacher's school and become an inhstructor for elementary schools. Someone that's established himself as an academic dud or is plainly intellectually inferior doesn't get a pass to proceed to the high schools that lead to universities; they aren't allowed - perhaps subsidized - to spend several carefree years obtaining degrees in black studies, sociology, or another "discipline" that is patently worthless. No, sir, those countries don't waste their resources to that profligate extent. If we're to have Socialism, let's go all the way and make higher education truly that and only for those deserving of it.

FIRST SUGAR, NOW GUNPOWDER; BLOOMBERG TAKES IT ON THE CHIN AGAIN. **** Billionnaire Boombag's millions on the Colorado recall election of the crypto-anti-Constitutionalists didn't prevail after all, as voters decided that they'd had a belly full of a couple of disguised leftists. Voters need to be careful "a priori" to discern the Constitution-devouring wolves masquerading in sheeps' clothing.

SYRIA - WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE? ****** To me it appears that contending for Syria are one set of Muslim terrorists WITH poison gas and one set lacking that weaponry but still adept and well-equipped for murdering people. What, then, is the difference? Whatever side B.O. picks, Egypt teaches us that we should go the other way. Neighborhood Organizer training didn't cover larger issues and concentrated mainly on fomenting parochial disorder.

DOES COWARDICE STIMULATE A RETURN TO A REPUBLICAN FORM OF GOVERNMENT? **** We've had now over 5 1/2 years of government by ukase; a veritable tidal wave of executive orders that have usurped powers intended for Congress. With the rather sticky problem of Syria confronting him, however, B.O. threatens a temporary return to Constitutional government in asking the legislature to make the decisions. This is like revisiting the poltroon's voting strategy in the Illinois State Senate; aside from a rabid zeal for butchering unborn children, he only voted "present." When the going gets tough, the chicken-hearted stick their heads in the sand. Impeach this disgraceful excuse for a leader!
WORK ***** "is also good as being something worthy, that is to say, something that corresponds to man's dignity, that expresses this dignity and increases it." Blessed John II . When you're tempted to join the army of panhandlers and welfare slobs here, remember those words; it's detracting from your dignity. Note too, that diligent work is a DAILY REQUIREMENT of life in every monastery. Why do you supppose that is?
